Clearing for a building site

When you are clearing to build, the goal is a clean, workable site without wrecking the topsoil you will want later. We open the building envelope, take out the brush, trees, and stumps in the way, pull rock, and clear the driveway line — then leave the site ready for excavation and grading. Because we handle those next steps too, the clearing is done with what comes after it in mind.

Brush, stumps, and debris

Overgrown lots come with a mix of brush, saplings, buried rock, old fencing, and sometimes a pile of debris a previous owner left behind. We grind or pull what needs to go, separate out what can be mulched from what has to be hauled, and load and remove the rest. You end up with open, usable ground instead of a burn pile you have to permit and tend for weeks.

Defensible space and demolition

Clearing ladder fuels and thinning brush back from your buildings is some of the most valuable work you can do in fire country, and we handle it as part of our clearing service. We also take down and haul off old sheds, collapsed outbuildings, and other small structures so the footprint is clean and ready for whatever comes next.

What it costs

Clearing price depends on how thick the growth is, how much stump and rock there is, whether material can be mulched in place or has to be hauled, and access. We walk the parcel, mark what stays and what goes, and give you a written number and a start window. Some clearing near county rights-of-way or waterways needs a permit — tell us the scope and we will point you to what is required.
