Because the material stays on site as mulch, there are no burn piles to permit and babysit, no smoke, and no haul-off on your bill. The mulch mat itself does real work: it holds soil in place on slopes, slows runoff, suppresses regrowth for a season, and breaks down into the ground over time. And a mulcher disturbs far less soil than a dozer and rake, so you are not left with a scraped, erosion-prone mess.
Defensible space and wildfire mitigation
Teton Valley is fire country, and the zone right around your house is where defensible space matters most. Stem density, tree size, and slope drive the price more than acreage does. Thin sage clears fast; dense conifer takes hours per acre. Steep and rocky ground goes slower than flat. That is why we price mulching after walking the parcel — no two are alike. We quote it by the acre or by the day depending on the job, give you a written number, and tell you where you sit in the schedule.
